The Wharton at Penick Village – Ground Breaking

Ground breaking for The Wharton at Penick Village.  The building is named for Annie and Fletcher Decatur Wharton, who broke the color barrier as the first black residents in the Southern Pines community.  “The standards, values and goals they set have carried through” -Dr. Marc Wharton.
